One Thought

Tribute to Stanley Dean.

LLS4L.

Written by TJ Pate.

One Thought.

Before I begin Into this genre or style of poetry,

I must state.

NO human chooses suicide.

Suicide chooses you.

And before you make someone your last call, Call 988.

Let's begin.

It takes seconds to form a thought,

But one more thought, to change it all.

One spark,

Can ignite a flame so hot, that it burns even the freshest of lumber.

One cut,

Can leave a scar with more tales to tell than any navy man.

One puff,

Can keep even the deepest of smokers higher than,

The atmosphere that seems to hold you down.

And kill dreams of touching stars.

One pill,

could temporarily provide the chemical release your mind so eagerly,

Craves to balance perfectly.

But One action.

Can show the kindest of  souls

Pure hatred, thyne to a life once loving and tender.

And the damnedest souls a sanctuary within peace and completion.

One Action

could leave childhood friends to not’

At all but a very faint and vivid memory.

ONE ACTION,

Could gamble your last breath like a slot game in vegas.

But one thought, or maybe two,

Could’ve been the umbrella to shield the now-wandering souls,

You left in this never-ending storm we call life.

The log,

to tightly secure the damn you worked so hard to build.

But to ask for your return would be a miracle I simply couldn't perform.

I just wish and hoped that God or whomever controls fate,

Could have blessed you with time.

Time to alter the conclusion to your freshly started story.

Rest in peace, Stanley Dean.
