LORAX
by Anonymous
what do you do when the world around you is all fake?
from the air to the water, from the dirt to all matter
what do you do when the world around you is all fake?
from the people you meet to the fish in the sea,
from the voices you hear to the sights you see.
what do you do when the world around you is all fake?
from beach to plane, from lake to cane, it’s all man made.
we post about the turtles and birds, record our voices to be heard.
we like the way we sound, we talk and talk yet a solution is still not found.
what do you do when the world around you is all fake?
they say they care, they say it’s not too late,
but all we do is stare, and watch them talk what a sorry state.
what do you do when the world around you is all fake?
when we’re colorblind of our problems but bombs and guns are bright,
Begs me to ask what happened to our sight?
what do you do when the world around you is all fake?
from hair on your head to nails on your toes,
from the tips of your fingers to the end of your nose,
how much more till our planet says foreclose?
what do you do when the world around you is all fake?
you leave this world to son or daughter,
to the trees fighting slaughter,
to the island trying to inhabit more than Other.
will you be a Lorax and speak for the trees, or will you be a Ted and save these?
