End of the World
by Tias Vang Damian
In the last days, when the sins of men had reached their full measure, the earth whimpered beneath the weight of wickedness. Aurora, with her honey-colored skin, flowing black hair, and glimmering brown eyes, begged the Lord to help others overcome their wickedness. The prophets had spoken of this time, warning about the wrath to come, but their voices were drowned out with greed, lust, war, and other earthly desires.
Aurora was known among the faithful, for her unwavering devotion to the Lord. As darkness spread over the land, she went into the wilderness to pray, seeking guidance and strength. Her heart broke for the world, but her faith remained unshaken. She became a beacon of light to those who had not fallen into the ways of the beast. She cried out to the Lord, “Lord let me be your servant so that I may bring others to your mercy before the end.”
Then a sign appeared in the heavens: the sun was darkened, the moon turned to blood, and the stars fell like leaves from trees in the fall. Mountains shook, seas roared, and nations trembled. It was the beginning of the end. The hour of judgment had come.
When the first trumpet sounded, fire and hail, mixed with blood, fell on the earth. It took away trees and green grass. Then the second trumpet sounded, and a mighty mountain burned in fire and was sent into the sea. It turned the waters to blood.
The world went into chaos. People were running out of hope. Men and women constantly hurt each other both physically and emotionally. Aurora watched in terror as a man yelled at his wife and beat her nearly to death. Deprivation and torment destroyed the land. Every ripple of the earth was touched by suffering. Kingdoms pursued war, and the hearts of men failed them. Then a beast arose, deceiving the nations. And the people, blinded by its wonders, worshipped the beast. People took its marks on their foreheads and hands.
Still Aurora stayed faithful. Even though the world crumbled around her, she gathered the few who still believed. She prayed with them and encouraged them to stay strong in their faith. She talked about the coming King. She told them about the deliverance for those who would remain faithful. “The Lord is our refuge and strength,” she reminded them. “The battle is not ours but his.”
Then the heavens opened, and the voice of the Almighty announced, “It is time.”
And the sky was split apart. The Son of Man came down in glory, riding on a white horse. His eyes burned like fire. He wore many crowns on His head. Behind him rode the armies of heaven, dressed in white. Their swords shone with righteous fire.
The beast and the kings of the earth gathered their armies in the valley. They prepared to make war against the lamb. The earth shook, the mountains crumbled, and the stars fell from the sky.
With a word from His mouth, the Lord struck down the nations. The beast tried to strike down the Lord with his sword and the Lord blocked it with His mighty shield. The Lord struck back with his sword and struck the beast down. The beast and the false prophet were then taken and cast into the lake of fire. The armies of darkness were consumed, and the blood of the wicked ran like a river through the valley.
There was a great cry as the prince of darkness was bound in chains and sent into the pit, where he wouldn’t trouble the earth any more.
Aurora stood among the faithful in awe and thankfulness as the King triumphed over the darkness. Even though the destruction was great, she knew the Lord was greater and a necessary step for the earth’s renewal. Her heart was filled with joy for the coming peace. She also mourned for the lost souls that would not see the glory of the new world.
Then the King went up into His throne, and all the dead were raised. The great and the small stood before Him, and the books were opened. Everyone was judged according to their faith. Those whose names were not written in the Book of Life were cast into the lake of fire, where the smoke of their torture rose forever. But to the faithful, the king said, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” And they entered into His glory.
Aurora’s name as well as other faithful people were written in the Book of Life. They were all called to enter the eternal kingdom. Aurora joyfully thanked the Lord for His mercy on her. Then the Lord said to her, “Because of your faith in me, which led to your works on this earth, you shall be saved. You will live with me in my perfect kingdom.” Death and the grave were no more, and the heavens and earth were made new.
And a new heaven and a new earth appeared, for the past things have passed away. The Holy City, New Jerusalem, descended from God. It shined like a bride dressed up for her husband. Its gates were made of pearl. Its streets were made of pure gold. The river of life flowed from the throne of the Almighty.
And He who sat on the throne declared, “Behold, I make all things new!”
The redeemed walked in the light of His presence. There was no more sorrow, nor death, nor pain. The Lord Himself lived with them, and they worshipped Him forever and ever.
Aurora, now in the presence of the King, knew that her journey had been worth every trial, tear, and struggle. She was part of the new creation. Peace reigned and the glory of the Lord filled every corner of the earth.
Now the old world was no more, and the new had come. The reign of the Most High had begun, and His kingdom would have no end.
Amen and Amen.
